Not sure on the age. I had looked up everthing I could on the web, not much on there though. I think I'll just grab a 113H and put it on a rod and save the LongBeaches for sale in about another 20 years :-D

I didn't do a post of my own about my miss-adventure on Sunday :smt009 The gist of it was, I was trolling a stretch 30, something hit it hard and tore the rod holder "screws and all" out of the boat and hauled butt with everything "Shimano TLD20, Tidewater rod" :smt010

:smt010 Sorry to hear about your miss-adventure. Did the drag offer any line at all?? I had an experience with TC when drifting and a Cobia hit. The rig was a bit lighter than what you had out but it broke the rod off at the rod holder because the drag froze and didn't release any line at all to the fish.

sorry to hear about the misfortune. Maybe Santa can help with some replacement gear. :D That was some pretty nice gear.

I think it was a combination of the screws getting losened up the day before "caught a 30"and 25" and broke off two others" and me having the drag a tad to tight :smt012 My brother has an underwater camera with a 30 foot tether and I plan to go back out there and see if I can spot it over the holidays

Rods taken by fish.....

That reminds me of a time. Seems like I was in 9th grade. I bought a brand new reel and rod, it was sharp. So I decide to go Catfishing. I baited my hook, made a cast and sat it on the ground. I turned around to do something and then turned back around. My new rod and reel was gone :smt009 . So I made one cast with it and never got a chance to reel it in :smt005 .

Sounds like maybe you should contract with Mr. Keels on this adventure. He probably has some toys that could help you out with the search and rescue.

Sorry to hear about the lost rodnreel combo. If you are going to buy another trolling reel, you can't beat those tld's. Ive got two and prefer them over the penn lever drags. I've got two penn lever drags one is still working on its last leg and the other is in the drawer needing repair.

If you are going to buy a bottom rig I recommend the daiwa 400h, much tougher that the penn. I've been using penns for quite some time and keep having problems with the bearings. I've got a long beach I used sitting in the retired drawer by the penn lever drag.

If you want to do some search and recovery send me the coordinates. :) We'll clean I mean find your lost reel.
