DRY TORTUGAS - The United State Coast Guard rescued four men and a dog named Shipwreck (
) after their 93-foot boat sank while traveling from Louisiana to Haiti.
After their boat began taking water the men activated an EPIRB, an emergency radio beacon, that allowed Coast Guard rescuers to find the men quickly.
Their liferaft was about 14 miles northwest of Dry Tortugas National Park when a Coast Guard helicopter located it around 11 p.m.
The men and their dog were taken onto the Coast Guard Cutter Key Biscayne and are being transported to Key West.
