Carrabelle- Wed 27 Dec

Post by qoutrage »

Neighbor Freddy had house guest wanting to fish, so we took a chance with the 2-3' forecast and got lucky with near smooth water Wenesday afternoon. Water was pretty clear and sfc temp was about 64 degs. The sky remained clear thru the afternoon with light and varible wind. We fished 5-7 miles off the east end of DI in 35-45' water. LY's and squid produced enough fish to feed everbody Wed night. The bite was slow most of the afternoon, but produced the below pictured catch, as well as several short gags and a 38" red, which I had the pleasure of catching. Of course, it was released after the pictures.
The highlight of the trip was one of the guest who spent most of her life in Queens, NY and had never fished before, catching our best keeper- a 27" gag. The sunset was less than spectacular as we round the end of DI, but if was a good afternoon anyway.. :D

Very nice. It does look like a sweet day on the water. You’ve got the makings of some fine dinners. I love those Blk Cbass.
