Fishin in the FOG 1/7/06

My buddy Fred has not been saltwater fishing in a couple of years. Earlier this week we made plans to go today. Turned out not to be the most beautiful day of the year, but we went. We launched at the fort at around 10 this morning. There was very little water. We headed up the Wakulla river to a hole I've fished before. I caught 1 pup red in the first 5 minutes we were there. Then nothing, for a while. We tried several holes, and on the way back down river, stopped at the hole we started at, and caught 2 more pups. About 2:00 I pointed the boat down the river, ran past the lighthouse, and hung a left. As soon as we stopped we boated 3 more pup reds. We worked the area until a little after 5:00, and managed 3 more pups, and Fred finally boated a 19" red.
Te wind was out of the south at 5 to 10, and the water temp was 67 degrees today. It was so foggy I couldn't wear my glasses. They kept fogging up.Fred got a good laugh out of this blind old man trying to tie baits today.
Today was one of those days that you don't feel like you did very good. But at the end of the day we had boated 10 reds, even if they were small. It sure beat sittin at the house.
