I finished spreading epoxy and fiberglass about 10:40 last night, got to bed late and tired…. Was awoken by Lil Chalk at 5:30, so much for sleeping in 
.
Cleaned up my mess in the garage and readied my battle gear and hooked up the Ghostrider for a day of chasing fish with Lil Chalk….But Lil Chalk decided he didn’t want to go
, so I took off on my own.
I launched the boat and ran out to see an almost slick bay, that didn’t stay that way for long. I fished a flat I found back in the fall, to only find a few mullet and pelicans. I ran down to the 40 redfish flat and found very little water, but there was bait present and some predators.
I stopped a good ways off the flat and let the wind push me in….I was almost at the best spot and the wind found another gear and swung more to the south, which screwed my drift up and fishing. I ran over several reds and saw a few trout, had one fish on for a few seconds and it came off.
I decided to move to another bank that would work with the wind, so I run 6 miles north…So far I had thrown spoons, mirrolures, hard jerk baits and topwater, with no takers and few lookers. I have seen probably 15 fish by now, so I know they are there, I was beginning to think Tincan’s mojo was left in my boat.
I decided to drop down the water column and see if I need to slow it down….picked up my spinner rigged with an exude and a weighted hook, aka Tincan Special. Four cast later and I finally lock into a nice red, caught photographed and release. I did that awhile and got bored with it and decided to try a spinner bait, which turned out to be what they wanted. I ended catching three more in short order and finished the day with a small trout.
I probably saw 40 redfish today, to include a nice school of 15 or so…. Fish were a bit skittish today, if I saw them, the game was over and all the fish I caught were not seen.
Tally of the day was 4 redfish between 20" & 25" and one dink trout.
Nothing broke, caught some fish, saw some fish, can’t wait til next…
Tyndall decided to burn today, this is the smoke cloud from the fire some 20 miles away and I had ashes falling on me
