Went SE to 20-25ft. 9:30am, 2-3 ft'rs from the E-SE. Trolled for a while, no luck, the floating weeds were pretty thick. Went S-SW to 30-35ft, around the bouy 24 area, trolled for a good while, only picked up a Bonita. Must have been 6-8 boats in the area. Bottom fished in 32 ft, picked up 11 sea bass, must have thrown back 50 small ones. Maybe they're deeper ? At 2pm we make a run to 50ft, SW. Oar2 area. Trolled, drifted live bait, sqiud, ect....nodda a darn bite. Saw some guys getting their dive stuff on, I wonder what they found ??? Headed to the hill 3:30pm, with slick seas. I hate to post such a pitiful report....but you godda take the good with the bad....Oh well, it was a wonderful day on the water...

yep. Gotta take the good with the bad. However, sometimes just being out there going through the motions is enough. Thanks for posting.

If the divers were in a big Sea Ray 38' or so, they did pretty well. I just saw the pictures.

Nice try RF. I did some trolling between 30-40' in those same areas Sat. We managed 2 @ 24 and one short. Then I had nice fish take my red-head stretch. That was the end of the grouper for the day. Couldn't buy a bite on any of the other stretches we had.

10-4, guess that wasn't them.

The grouper were tough to find yesterday as well. We didn't catch a keeper until 1:30, but managed a limit by 5pm. Stink bait wasn't doing it for us, and trolling only produced a flounder.

It turned out that live mullet we caught in the castnet were the bait of grouper choice. 60ft = keepers, anything less = shorts.

Yea, I made a special trip to West Marine for a Red/white plug and they were OUT.........I'm glad to hear you guys at least got a few, WTG....I would have(should have) started deeper, but the 2-4 ft seas "forcast" kept me in closer. Where I was the seas only got better all day.....
