Anyone know a good instructor?

This area is for discussing all aspects of diving and spearfishing.

Anyone know a good instructor?

I would like to take the PADI cert course locally. Can anyone recommend a good instructor?

Preferably an instructor knowledgeable in spear fishing as well because that is what I would like to do.

Try Chad Carney , http://www.mobilescuba.com , I think he'd be your guy ! He teaches every level of diving , freediving, and spearfishing ! He might not be in your backyard but would be worth the drive.

A good PADI instructor, no. Do yourself a favor and try to find an SSI or YMCA instructor. Go here...

Chad is the best...but is down in st. pete. The truth is noone really gears a basic OW towards spearfishing. Just get certified ASAP and once you are comfortable in the water get out spearing as much as possible. Also Kevin Bruington is having a seminar in PC on April 14. I can not recommend this seminar enough. Also dont mess with lineshafting get started right freeshafting.
