When do you change the prop? After a few nicks, more nicks, or when it is about gone? Does the performance suffer that much or does it hurt to run with about a 1/2 inch missing on one blade?

IF IS HIT SOMETHING AND KNOCK A HUNK OUT OF THE PROP. I ALWAYS GRIND THE BLADES OFF SO THEY ARE EQUAL IN DISTANCE FROM THE CENTER OF THE HUB. IF IT IS OVER 3/4" I TRY NOT TO RUN ENGINE OVER ABOUT 3/4 THROTTLE. IF IT IS MORE THAN 3/4" I GRIND THE PROP DOWN AND KEEP IT AS A SPARE AND PUT ON NEW PROP.

An out of bslance prop will eat up your prop shaft seals and wear on the bearings and gears.

One word.................STAINLESS!

I'd buy another prop, that prop can be fixed, I'd price the repair over a new aluminum one first though...

Stainless is good, depends on your application

The problem with stainless: the last two times I hit something with ss, it broke more than my prop. $900 & $500. Aluminum is cheaper.
