Movie Review -- Ghost Rider

Well, the Marvel Comics movie franchise has some winners and losers. For the most part I have enjoyed the offerings. X-Men, Spiderman, Blade, Daredevil and Punisher have all been good and faithful to the source material for the most part. Then there are stinkers like Electra, and Fantastic Four.
Well now there is a new low in the franchise and it happens to be my favorite comics character of all time. It's name is Ghost Rider.
I won't bore you with details, suffice to say there are very few redeeming qualities of this piece of crap. Eva Mendez manages to at least add some eye candy all the while trying not to laugh through the terrible dialog.
Nic Cage should be ashamed since he is the one who made this movie because he claims he is a fan of the series.
All I can say is this is barely a rental when it comes out. Definitely don't waste 8 bucks like I did.

Sorry to hear that. I saw Breach yesterday and it was pretty good.

Oh, come on Tom... You didn't like the jump over the helicopters??
Cage did have some nice motorcycles though... It wasn't the worse movie I've seen but after watching it the wife and I agreed we should have saw Hannibal...

Too bad, Tom.
Where Cage was great in Raising Arizona and ok in Con Air, I find him a little sappy in the other films I've seen. I actually laughed my way through National Treasure (it wasn't a comedy). He's not my favorite.
My two cents.

Even though its pretty outrageous, I really liked
National Treasure. I laugh at him in
Con Air, but that movie has some of the funniest lines for an action movie ever.

Replace or add fantastic 4 on the stinker list with Hulk and you got it right. Daredevil falls somewhere in between.
X-Men 2 is the cream of the crop.
Thanks 4 the review. Saw that one coming when Cage was starring.

Hulk was so so for me. I really liked the comic book feel to that movie. Ang Lee was revolutionary in that respect. It was boring for the most part and not faithful to the story but it was different.
I site Nic Cage as a problem in
Ghost Rider, not for his acting (He got Johnny Blaze pretty good), but for the fact that he was the one who pushed to get this movie made and therefore was responsible for how bad it was.

He saw the marvel box office draws and Ghost Rider was alphabetical after Fantastic Four in the first Marvel Universe reference he picked up. Plus he would at least get a custom bike out of it.

"Put... the bunny... back... in the... box. "
"Why couldn't you put the bunny back in the box? "
Funny lines indeed.
