Just got back, beautiful day on the water with my wife. When I start like that it means no fish, but still a really beautiful day.

Started just up from the power plant, tried grubs with live shrimp worked slow on the bottom. Tried about every 30 yards all around the power plant, only caught the bottom.

Tried just south of the fort in a big hole, same thing.
Since high tide was coming I thought some of the holes
around the oyster bars at the mouth of St. Marks river would be the place for reds,
Lots of birds and a few dolphins no hits.

Did I say it was a beautiful day on the water... :)

You had a beautiful day for it. Sorry the fish didn't cooperate. I hope this weather holds out through the weekend. Glad you could enjoy a day on the water with the Missus. 8)

rx fisher, its a pity about the fish not cooperating, but it sounds as though you both enjoyed yourselves.
Spring will soon be here.......lots of Kingfish to smoke. :D :D :D

If they aint in the river, I'm gonna guess that they are on the flats! By mid day that water should be good and warm for em :D If the boss is agreeable, I think that I will try the flats on Friday

wevans,

My wife wanted to try the flats, but I, all knowing, told her there are no
fish on the flats this time of year. She read your post before I could
get to it... I'll be fishing the flats soon myself..

Let me know how it goes...
tight lines.

RX, they gotta come back sooner or later. Sounds like you had a pleasant day, though.
