I've got an old friend (from elementary school :o ) that I recently found out is temporarily living at Eglin Air Force base--and he wants to do some fishing :-D Eglin sits on Choctawhatchee Bay, around Destin/Fort Walton.

I'm gonna meet up with him this weekend to do some fishing (so no bigbendsocial for me  ), and to check out the Florida Sportsman show in Destin.

I'm going to trailer my boat over there so that we can fish the bay. Does anybody have, or know where I can get, any information on fishing there? There is a ramp on base, so we are going to put in there. But from there, we have no idea where to go.

Any info that anybody has would be awesome. Thanks.

You'll catch more fish at the Social......
I have heard that Santa Rosa Sound holds a few nice Reds, or fish the pass with Cut mullet for the bruisers. Also, I hear that Alaqua Creek has trout.
I don't know, I just heard that.

Call or go by Half Hitch Tackle in Destin. They are famous for their helpfulness.

The basspro shop over in Destin did have some nice maps that could be really helpful. I like the ones made by "Top Spot".

Good luck.............Post a report afterwards !!!

You were right about that. Next time I'm taking your advice. The FS show was great, though.
