Electric Motor Rigging

I'm helping a friend mount and rig an electric motor on his Carolina skiff. Question: Should we use a stand alone battery set-up and just keep it charged or rig a battery switch and a second battery? He has a 70 hp 4-stroke Yamaha. Will it charge all this. Looking for advice.
Thanks in advance!

NEVER wire the trolling motor to the cranking battery. Yse a stand alone battery for the trolling motor.

Tin Can, I definitely know better than that. My question is with a battery switch will that eliminate the off battery from draining and will that 70 - 4-stroke motor keep those batteries charged?

I wouldn't try to charge the trolling motor battery with the outboard. I use a stand alone system, and hook a battery charger to the trolling motor batteries after every trip.
