Wind, 4-footers and short fish

Went out of Mexico Beach today (didn't want to chance Apalachicola Bay being whitecapped) about 12kt winds, 47degrees, & what looked like short interval 4-footers
(one NOAA source recorded 4.9 and 5.2s during the time I was out). I had intentions of going to the 18-mile bridge spans, but played safe and stayed inside the 10-mile mark working the artifical reefs. No keepers, short gags & red grouper, throw back snappers.
Did not stay out more than four hours -- I hate fishing while holding onto the boat, its a 19-ft Cape Horn.
Oh well, maybe next time our mistress of the open waters will be inclined to churn less if Mr. Wind will quit shifting his directions.
