Didn't know were to post inshore boat, off shore adventure.

Don and I have been looking for the perfect day, when we could take his inshore flats rocket, the Greenbone, grouper fishing. Sunday was the day, after each had gone to church, thanks to Congress and an extra hour of daylight. The weather was perfect we head out from the fort on St. Marks river, 19 miles to our spots and a couple borrowed spots. ( For you true fisherman, yes were inside the 9 mile line). Grouper are funny fish, you have to put the bait right in front of there face, because they stay in rocks and the cold water makes them slow, but for some reason, drag a lure all pretty colored about the size of a coke bottle a 4 knots and they will go crazy. We had a bite in the first 1/2 hour, Don's rod went down, but missed the bite, then mine, but I was hooked to the earth. Cranked down while Don was clearing his line and dragged the boat back to the spot, Never felt any pull until I was right ontop, a nice 29 inch 11 lb Gag.

Was a sweet afternoon on the pond, think what we could have caught if we started early??Want to set the story straight- I had a pew/pass, the
wife has got the flu-BAD,she felt a little better w/groupa in the fridge.
By the way,we were miles from the Federal waters,at least 1 or 2- :-D
Stretch 25's were the ticket, nothing on the 30, I think any bright color
would have worked.Water temp was 66-68, warming up quickly.
Honorable mention for the 2 15"sea bass that each weighed 2.5 lbs. :lick:
