Trout and reds should be plentiful on the north side of the island in close.

CT, I got a pretty solid report of a pile of trout and one real good Black drum landed in the "cut" there at St. George. Also they said that there were a plenty of redfish. I did not catch any sizes on the reds but, usually some good size fish caught there! Be careful though, that cut is notorius for rough water. Not sure what kind of boat you will be fishin' out of but, I would not try it in a smaller boat. If not there, I heard a guy at work mention that he had success last week around Dog Island with the trout. He said he caught them on live shrimp and artificial baits, plenty of slots. Good luck, let us know how you do!

Don't know what kind of fishing you want to do. But surf fishing on St George or in the boat out in West Pass there are usually lots of good whiting around this time of year. Not trophy fishing, but damn good eatin.
