Spring Warrior...................................PTHHHHT!

:-D A group of us decided to go to Spring Warrior sunday and try it. None of us had been there before so we wanted to check it out. We had 3 boats(Loanshark and his boy, Snoopy and his three kids, and Bob the builder and I) Neg .4 low tide at 8:30 so we got there at 7:30 so as to maybe get out before the low. :smt009 Saw a bigger boat leaving the ramp and should have followed suit. :smt013 north wind and neg tide means no water. :smt011 got ready to launch after my buddies were in the water and noticed that all of my lugs on one wheel were about to fall off. :smt013 then that ramp is so steep that when we started to back down my boat slid half way off the trailer....it would have hit the concrete if I had not grabbed it and slowed it down long enough for my buddy to get the other side. :smt012 Man that water was cold pushing that boat when you could not pole it. At one point Snoopy hollers at me that it's my fault but it was his idea to go there. :smt014 To make a long story short it was 11:00 before we reached the gulf and the bottom of my boat looks like it was dragged down the road. :smt013 :smt013 :smt013 If you go there that creek is dangerous. Many unmarked rocks, crabtraps, and bars. But it was a very fishy looking place. However I think I'll launch at Keaton to get there. The tally 1 16" trout(Loanshark) 1 stingray(Snoopy) and 1 strike(myself) Thats it, the water dropped from the high sixties earlier in the week to 55-61.5 degrees. Water very clear but muddy down by Rock Island.

Thats the only place that I fish out of. Yes I can be fun getting out. Unless you have a .3 or higher you can't get out. But the fishing is great, and very few people put in there so the ramp is not that crowded. Good place but just have to pick the right tide. :smt004
