What kind of rig you have. The ramp at spring warrior is not the best by any means. And can get pretty shallow in there at low tide, and what channel there is, is not the best marked. You be better of going out there with someone first. I went one time, $60 in prop repair.

I've fished Spring Warrior all my life, (My brother lives 1/4 mile from the landing) and my advice would also be, go with someone else first. The mouth of the creek can go plum dry on the right tide. I've had to set at the mouth in a bird dog mullet boat more than one time to wait for enough water to get back into the creek.

The fishing in that area is great. However, you don't have to put in a Spring Warrior to fish that area. It's a fairly short run from Keaton Beach back north to the Warrior/Yates Creek. I have a place two miles from Keaton landing, so that's my main fishing grounds March-June. The water in the Warrior area stays more stained than the water directly out from Keaton Beach, so it's a little better fishing most of the time.

how about kayak and small skiff access? I will be in the area late march early april - what kind of fishing might i expect inshore or near offshore? I love to fly fish - but am not opposed to conventional equipment either. fly types? lures? test? etc.?
By the way, this is a great site! Keep up the good work.

With a Kayak or small boat there are lots of access to good inshore fishing. With a very small rig in late March and early April I'd fish the mouths of the creeks like Warrior and Yates. Both creeks have a wide shallow grass bed just outside the mouth, and some very nice trout and reds are caught there in 1-2 foot of water. I know nothing about fly fishing so can't help you there. Normally this area peaks the last two weeks in april to the first two weeks in May. With this crazy weather this year, it's anybody's guess when it will be this year.
