mashes sands 03-24

I put my 20ft cape horn in around 9:00am and headed toward the southeast. Finally after a pretty wet ride 18 miles we get to the first hole and start dropping the Spanish sardines down we get 2 small keeper red grouper and about 12 grunts. We then made a small move to get one 22" gag. After an hour of nothing I decide to try to move to a little deeper water since we could see bottom where we were. After 8 more miles and in 55ft the water was even clearer couldn't get nothing to bite but a few rockbass. It sure was nice to be able to get on the t top and find alot of holes which I mark on the gps.I think the grouper were pretty skidish due to the clear water.I got my dive classes coming up in the middle of april so maybe I will try some spearing next time the clear water makes it that more tempting to want to go.I can't wait.no pics this time but got a new dive camera that I will use once I can go diving. The end of the day total.
2 20"red grouper
1 22"gag
a dozen or so grunts
and 1 triggerfish
and a very fun day on the water
