I have a Garmin 80 or 90, I bought it a couple of months ago and have not used it. I mounted the transducer and holder and hooked it up to the battery to make sure that it worked and it did. It isn't anything fancy but it apparently reads depth up to 500'. I have taken everything off of the boat and it is in the box. I'll take $100 for it. If you are interested PM me!

In saying it is reading depths of 30-60, is it doing it in water or on land? If it is doing it on water it could be the transducer. My garmin did that and it was the tansducer wire was the problem. I do not have anything to say about hummingbird so I will keep my trap shut, but garmin customer service is outstanding.

I've got an Eagle Fish ID 128 that you can have (I think all of the parts are still there  ). It's just sitting in my garage serving no purpose.

Get your book out and reset your information. Sounds like someone pushed a wrong button.
Call Humminbird. Their Customer Service is great too.
