Me and the wife were wanting to go to the beach somewhere this weekend to pitch a tent, surf fish, maybe swim if not too cold, and most of all RELAX! I called St. George Island state park and they are full this weekend. Anyone know a good place. Anywhere between Keaton and PC is fine with us!

Don't know if they lock the gates at Mashes Sands Park any more, but it would be a decent enough place to camp if they let ya :-D I don't know how you could find out without going there though

st joe sp has designated campsites (around the circle with bathroom facilities, etc) but also permits backcountry camping (setting up your tent further down the penninsula and more isolated). You may want to explore either of those options.

Ochlockonee state park is pretty decent camping with nice facilities; and it's right on the river. I guess no surf fishing, though.

I have to agree that Indian Pass is a great option, if they are full call Presnell's Fish Camp 850-229-2710. I just made reservation's for the Saltwater Classic weekend and the prices were a little cheaper than IP. Also Presnells is right down the road frome IP and the The road to St. Vincent State Park. Go to http://www.presnells.com and you can look at the campsites and it also sits right on St. Joe Bay!

Don't forget to take plenty of Deet were ever you go. the reports I've gotten lately say the sand gnats are getting bad.
