April Fools Day, Skunked!

April's Teamseatrout Tournament was held Sunday. The results were not very good. Us and several others cought no fish to weigh for the tournament. This comes after most everyone had a great Saturday.
On my boat Saturday we had a 23"er, 22"er, and three others which were over 19". We did not weigh these fish but I feel we had at lease 14lbs. Also on Saturday we put in at the St. Marks Fort and ran to Rock Island and fished back with the S.E. wind. We covered 54 miles round trip.
Sunday morning, The wind was blowing extra hard (S.E.) and had been blowing since 3am. We decide to put in at the Econfina instead of the Fort since most of our fish came from Rock Island the day before. Did catch two right at 15" and through them back. It was some hard fishing. At the tournament weigh-in only one boat out of 20 something weighed 5 fish. It was slow for everybody.
Today I talked with some Comercial Fishermen who said the full moon with the hard south wind will run the fish offshore. of course we stayed in close because that is where we would rather fish.
It is amazing how much one can learn from a day where no fish is caught compared to a banner day of fishing.
