Materials:
1.5" Sch 40 PVC
10' X 10 Pcs
72" X 6
42" X 8
18" X 8
8" X 4
6" X 16
Ts X 28
Caps X 8
PVC Cement
Tools:
Saw
Rubber Mallet
Saw Horse
Step Ladder
Tape Measure
Pencil
Rag
Work Table
Smaller diameter might have worked, but 1.5" was cheaper. Of course it's probably not now, since it rang up $2 per stick more than what it was marked and I called attention to this. Good luck finding the Ts. I bought out the first place I went and had to go somewhere else for the remaining four.

I decided not to anchor it down in case I decide I want it somewhere else, Barry. I did consider putting wheels on it so I could tow it behind a bike, but then decided that idea was

.
What happened to the picture of the rack you made? That looked pretty good.
It was <$125 for all the pipe, Ts, caps and cement, Robbie, but I didn't do a lot of shopping around. Only Ace in C'ville and Gulf Coast Lumber. I probably could have done better with a little more looking.
What, with 3 x 75 lb. canoes + the 'yak on there, I think I should have done is, instead of building it 1 x 4, I should have built it 2 x 3. That would also have allowed room for expansion to the fleet. Oh well, I'll keep that in mind for when it falls down, it's kind of shaky the way it is.

HEY CHARLES, THAT LOOKS GOOD. IF IT IS A LITTLE TIPPSY JUST PUT A TIE DOWN STRAP ON EACH CORNER HITCH TO A STAKE IN THE GROUND. THAT WOULD KEEP IT UPRIGHT AND NOT TIPPING OVER.

Thanks, Pa. I thought of that, but I think before I give myself something else to trip over, I'll move it so I can tie at least two of the uprights to a couple of trees.

Leave it to JT for the old school reference. I don't even think PA was around for that one.

that's a good price for your canoe and kayak rack.
good idea Charles adding on to make it 2 wide would add stability and room for more in your fleet.
yea BMAN has a very nice canoe rack up on Lake Talquin.
and a few canoes to boot on some beautiful property!
