Well, what can I say? The weather was brutal, but since we were there we had to do some fishing and it paid off.

Friday, went out around 11:00 after it had warmed up a bit. After a lot of searching, we found the fish had gone deep. We ONLY caught fish in 7 ft of water, with water temps exactly 70 - 71 degrees. If we drifted into 69.5 water, the bite stopped. My buddy and I put 8 keepers in the boat, with 2 over 20 in. Also coolered a nice Spanish. ALL keepers were caught on suspending twitch baits. Day's count:
25 trout (8 keepers)
2 Spanish
7-8 Blues

Saturday was even rougher. Most didn't go out, those that did came back early. We were 1 of 3 boats within sight at 11:00 am. Within the first hour of fishing, the bite started and never stopped. Fish were deep again (7 to 8 feet) and the warmest water we could find was 65 - 66 deg. But they were there. We had to be nearly 2 mi seaward from the last channel marker. Fish were smaller but active. 90% of fish caught on CT/gulp on Saturday. We limited out easily and threw back 3 or 4 keepers. Day's count:
45+ trout (13 keepers, none over 20')...may have been more
8 -10 Blues

Shocked we did so well given the brutal wind and freezing temps, but glad we stuck it out.
