Unusual weather for sure!

Water temp had dropped about 10 degrees from the week before so
my spirits were dampened and cooled by the ever present winds...
fished Thurs afternoon and same Friday just east of Aucilla and
quite pleased with results: Thurs got two limits of keeper trout and
some nice reds on points on spinnerbaits; Fri got three + limits of
trout with average size much better and also some spanish.
Sat morning the weather was even cooler and the wind was howling
so I just cleaned up, cooked fish for some of the "locals", and headed
home for Easter at home with the family.

Lots of boats out considering the weather....time to remind
some folks that "flats courtesy" is important! There's a lot of water
out there so close passes at higher speeds are not necessary
and don't get in front of someone's drift only a few boat lengths away!

You need to get out there in an old proline. I think everyone assumes I am a guide (to their disadvantage) and I every time I go, several boats get right on my drift.

RHTFISH can you clarify "spinnerbaits". My buddy and I were discussing the other day if the old bass safetypin still spinnerbaits would work for trout, reds, spanish etc. I have a bunch of them I might give a try next time I am out.

I am guessing you are using in-line spinners but I was just curious.

I use the ThunderSpin I think it's called and ZZ short arm spinner
from bayoubucklures.com. Be prepared: reds can demolish them both!
I haven't had much luck with inlines but know some folks who swear by them. I also like the Capt. Mike's spoon in 1/4 oz version but it's harder
to work in wind for me.

Depth for trout 2.5-4 on trout depending on tide. New penny and white
Gulp shrimps. Most of the trout were full of roe and beginning to show considerable red streaks so maturity close.
