Any local knowledge on these? Talked to guy today that is going to start carrying them over here across the pond. Any good?

They are a good quality, well made rod and at the higher end of the price market over here.
Mike Bell (Blokerods) does sell a few on eBay, where most people buy them at well below shop price.
This does put some people off.

I have heard that 5#, 6# and 7# weights are best, above that they can feel heavy.
Its fair to comment that they did make the 8# for sight casting for bonefish, which is different from constant casting for trout.

If you use a fly rod regularly, try picking one up and holding it.
I find after 30 seconds I know whether it will suit me , or not.
This test also works with women.

I have never used his reels and don't know anyone that has.
They look OK, a bit pricy and I would guess they are imported with his name on, he makes the rods, but I don't think he makes the reels.
