I'm selling a 14' 2000 Monark aluminum boat with a 1998 Johnson 9.9hp. I would like to figure out how much to ask and need help with pricing the motor. The motor is in excellent condition, has been well maintained and taken care of and may have about 50 hours on it (pure guess). Any ideas? By the way, the boat has a brand new 2007 MinnKota Riptide 40lb, SeaDek, trolling battery galvanized trailer.

Thank for the help, I actually stumbled upon NADA guides last evening and was able to put a price together. Unfortunately for me though I'm a terrible salesman and sold it for a little less than I could have gotten for it if I had advertised, oh well, my new boat awaits! Thanks

There is something to be said for a quick sale.
I've noticed in most cases, the motor's value is about 60-75% of the value of the boat. The older the boat is, the higher the percentage. Accessories matter some, but not much - maybe a third of their purchase price if they are less than 2 yrs old.
Many people mistakenly think that what they paid for a boat, and the amount of money they put into a boat has a relationship to what it will resell for.
On the flip side, you will never be paid too much for a boat, if you dont ask too much.
