Indian Pass, 4/21

Challenged myself this year to investigate some new territory and Indian Pass has been on my list for quite a while. Being the western range of Apalachee Bay it is estuarine and its turbidity doesn’t allow for much seagrass. The oyster bars are extensive and given the amount of relief the area is tough for boating –but ideal for a kayak. I fished Saturday morning and had trouble reading the bars and finding the deeper cuts adjacent to the bay that I figured would hold fish. I did eventually find the redfish but only after a lot of looking and after I gave up on topwater.
Caught 9 and all were in the upper end of the slot.
Gulp/CT.
The wind made for tough travel and chased me home by 10:00.
I really liked the place & will return when the bars are more exposed and I can negotiate the territory better.
