Left the lighthouse at about 6:45 a.m. and ran East towards the Aucilla...stopped in the general area of Peter's Rock and motored inshore as shallow as the boat would go. Both my dad and I started the day throwing topwaters working around rocks that were showing above the water. I made a cast around the side of one of the rocks and about the time I was walking it past them, I got a monster hit almost like someone dropped a cinderblock in the water right by my lure...or at least thats what it looked like. Three minutes later I got her to the boat only to realize that my net had blown out on the ride from Tally. Finally was able to grab her and get her in the boat. She went 25" and weighed close to 5 lbs. Booyaa. Spent the rest of the morning throwing topwater around the rocks and caught our limits fairly quickly. Then some jackass decided to motor up within 30 yards of our boat (through our drift) and start fishing the same area after he watched us catch fish. Thanks pal (and your three other passengers). After that we moved out and threw soft plastics and twitch baits in 3' of water and caught a few here and there. Ended the day around noon and stopped and got some amazing bar-b-que from Register's in Woodville. It was a good day on the water.

Fished in less than 2' of water for most of the day and the water temps stayed in the low 70's while we were there.

We didnt see or catch a redfish all day. I guess BD caught them all yesterday. Maybe there'll be some down in St. Joe next weekend.

I was headed down Crawfordville Hwy. today going to Spring Creek Restaurant after the FSU graduation, saw a large dipnet in the road. We were loaded up in the minivan and the wife wouldn't let me stop, said we didn't have room. Sorry, looked like a good net if it was yours. :smt010
Good day of fishing regardless. Enjoyed your report.
