Tunnel hull in chop

Got my first real taste of ruff water and the tunnel operation in such. That 3 blade prop washes out a lot, doesn't grab good, cavitation is a problem somewhat.

There are no 4 blade aluminum props........

Thanks for the links. dubble i was told by one prop company there were no 4 blade aluminums, and I until now haven't found one.

I am gonna be jumping out on a limb and try one pf those from Overton's if they have a Yamaha prop. If they don't I will gamble running a SS 4 blade, but 4 blade it must be.

Redbelly,

There are four blade aluminum props out there for Yamaha, here are two places I've found so far. I'm just leery of spending upwards of $400 for a prop and it not perform right. I don't think most places will let you return a used propeller.

Look for the Michigan Vortex for Yamaha in the link below

http://www.propline.com/index.htm

Heres another place with 4 blade aluminum for yamahas

http://www.a1discountprop.com/solasyamalcup.htm

And this mercury website has alot of good info and also an interactive prop selector.

Thanks Ty! Now I see some very affordable choices in my 4 blade prop quest.

I may get an aluminum and a comprop......for 1/2 a SS prop. Top end speed is not my concern, but hole shot and reduced cavitation in chop. :)

http://www.Overtons.com let me return a SS prop that I had ran on my boat. It had too much pitch and the wot was way to low. Just don't hit anything while your testing it.

I think it is SOP to be able to return props that aren't what you need. As said, as long as you don't hit anything and you return it fairly quick.

Thanks guys I just assumed most places wouldn't take back a prop once you used it, never really checked their return policies.
