4/28/2007 Got to take my boy

My son is down for a few days. With not much going on yesterday, his Momma told him he needed to go fishin. We got to The Fort around 7:30. Launched and headed out. There wasn't enough water to get in close, so we started the morning in an area I had caught some trout a few weeks earlier. Caught 9 keeper trout while waiting for the tide to rise. Most were caught on jerk baits. Caught a 24" spanish, also. I sure didn't expect a spanish up shallow.

When the water was up enough we headed to the redfish hole. The wind was out of the north, making it difficult to spot fish, and handle the boat. But we managed 5 keeper reds.

Had some things to take care of at home in the afternoon, so we were back on the trailer by 2:30.

My son always has to turn all of our trips into a challenge. He keeps telling me, BEFORE every trip, how he's gonna put it on me. When we got home he went straight to his Momma and cried on her shoulder. His old man put it on him again.

I miss fishing with my son.

Good trip. I'm afraid my boy is getting to the age the fishing with Dad is falling down the priority scale.

Good deal, John. You should let the boy win a few every now and then.

Competition makes for a good trip. We had very little trouble with the wind yesterday at Lanark. It blew a little early but got nice by mid morning.

Keep it up and he might not want to go fishing with you no more. Now that's a bad complex... Time well spent with a good haul of fish

BTW- I saw your buoys down around Lannark. Those must have been placed there within the past year because I've never seen them till 4/27.

Good deal Tincan :D my son has a girlfreind, he's 19, so fishing is low priority for him right now.

I'm like you I enjoy my trips when he does go. :D

Yeah...I'm pretty sure fishing is WAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY down the totem pole compared to his 19 year old girlfriend! :-D
