My son (Austin, age 10) and I decided to go this morning and be back early, we were gonna fish the rising tide and be off the water around 1300. All this was before we had a flat on the way down :smt011 . No big deal, I put the maypop spare on and headed for the landing. Most of the morning was slow until just before the tide topped out, that's when my son started bring in the trout. It was all I could do to keep up with him, if his line had not broken on the last one he hooked up on he would have beat me (it was a nice on, maybe 20"). We were on the trailer around 1300 as planned then, just before the truck route on Crawfordville Hwy my other trailer tire flats. No spare, it's already on the trailer. Called my wife who is in C'belle, no answer. Called a friend in Crawfordville and get his wife to wake him up from a nap. He was nice enough to buy a tire from Wal-Mart and bring it to me. I will of course repay him and I really want to thank him for doing that.

Thanks again Alan, I owe you one! :smt006

Finished the day with fresh trout on the grill, baked beans and cheese grits. :lick: Even with the flats it was still agreat day with my son and I know there is someone I can count on. I think I'll get to bed early.

On my small john I have 2 spares. Going to buy another for my bigger john so I will have 2 for it. :D

I'm also gonna set each boat up with a spare hub ready to go. I have had bearings go out too. :o

Good thing you got your friend. Never had a flat but I have blown a hub. Can't imagine two.

I haven't blown a boat trailer tire and don't want to.

only one flat , thankfully only two miles from the house on the way back with a limit of fish. Im in agreement with the two spare mentality. Can you buy a prepped hub kit for your trailer of do you have to build it and pack it on site?

Seems that every time I take the Boy Scouts I have a flat or someone who lets the air out of tires (last time). We took them up to the Flint River to fish and canoe and had a two flats on the way up and one on the way back. I had to go on Sunday before we left to find a new spare. Got lucky and found an RV place open with a spare. Didn't think we would need it....we did :o
