I ve fished Stren 10 lb line for 20 years and never had a problem. Now it seems I i keep getting broken off and having to re-tie much more than I used to. Any suggestions on a good replacement mono? I ve tried braid and dont like it(cant bite it!!!!) What is ya'lls favorite line and weight?

This time of year with the spanish, you will need some kind of leader, or just get used to re-rigging. It is a tradoff of catching more fish or running a leader.

I am becoming a big fan or Powerpro braid. That stuff is tuff. You just have to get used to the fact that is does not stretch at all.

And I have used spiderwire on my trolling rods with hardly a breakoff ever. Actually only times I get broke is when I get in the rocks or hung on a crab trap.

As for biting it, just slip a goog sharp pair of fingernail clippers in your pocket. Works great......

Oh, when I do use mono, I use Ande...Good stuff

Hold on to your panty hose !

Power-pro 15# with 24" of 30# fluorocarbon leader.
This will stop your break-offs, and get better hook-sets to boot
