Took the wife and kids down around 11 to the fort and set out to the West.

It wasn't long till my wife was getting bored and started telling us whether there was fish on the fish finder or not.... "they're back there - they're not here. They're some big ones and little ones .. you need to get the big ones... why aren't you catching them - they're right UNDER the boat!"

Fortunately, we started catching some fish and she manned the net and major points were made with her every time she could net a fish. The girls wanted to see if they could get wet (we were in the skiff ) so I was able to comply.

Finished up cause my wife thought the wind meant storm.. 4 keeper trout and biggest blue yet.

Wife asked how much a fishing license was - so she could show us how to fish!

The only other event of the day was when some idiot went in the river pushing the skiff off from the dock at the ramp I have it on good authority that he didn't lose anything.

Besides, It felt good to be cooled off for the day fishing!!

Wasn't me. I've been in bed all day trying to recover from that azz whippin' I got yesterday from Casey Cook and Crew.

Sounds like the best way to spend an afternoon

Actually I think jumptrout is trying to recover from spending to much time at the thirsty goat in sjb on the way to the sensuous sheep.

I'll just piggy back my report on to yours since it's so short. Wish I had of known you were out there I'd of motored over. I put in at LH and went east to the grey mare area - nada. Moved around alot - and I couldn't catch anything but big ladys and big catfish. Fished all way back to the LH and ended up with three keeper trout. You had more action west than I did east. Glad you got out there with the family I know you enjoyed that.

At one move I felt the boat was heavy in the rear and wondered why. Turned the bilge on and it pumped gallons of water out. Thought that was stange because I knew the plug was in solid and it hadn't taken water over the rear. Spent the day pumping out water on top of not catching fish. Going to go see Waival for a custom patch this week!!!

Talked to several boats at the landing and their reports were the same - not much happening either.

Is the water warm enough for swimming? My daughter wants to go out to the birdrack when it is.

Seagirl, it depends on what you consider warm enough. My kids have been in my pool for a month. I got in yesterday after they begged me to play with them, it's still not warm enough for me

The river was very refreshing! Thank heavens 911 put a ladder on the back of the boat

We parked it at the bird rack for Little Bit to swim. It's plenty warm enough 75-80. Warmer than spring water

But, it's already a parking lot out there and some folks push in there like they are bump drafting at Talladega. Beware!
