The Pinfish ate $40.00 worth of GULP!

Well, it seemed that way as I know the Monster Pinfish of Econfina ate 2/3 bags by themselves! I counted up at the end of the day and there were 7 empty Gulp bags in the my boat trash bag!! Ouch!! Some had left overs from other trips but man that get expensive!

My next door neighboor had been asking me to take him and his two kids fishing so I got someone to cover for me at work on Thursday and we headed back to Econfina and try the honey hole again! Put the boat in at 6:30 and idled up the river due to low tide. Eventually got up on plane and zoomed to our first fishing spot. It started out slow and stayed that way all day except for around 9:30 to 10:30! Ended up with 12 good trout, 2 flounder, some good rock bass, and every other species you could think of! I bet you I got cut off 6/7 times and nobody else had my problem!! All trout were caugth on CT under 1/4 oz jigs and Gulp. Nothing hit my Catch 2000 which worked well on Tuesday. Funny thing about this trip was we hooked alot of trout but it was just one of those days were everything seemed to swim toward the boat! Most just came off due to not reeling quick enough or they were doing the dodging the net routine. We took a few big fish that were 24,23, and 22 inches and all were taken East of Econfina. All the casting wore everybody out so we did not go looking for any reds. Got home around 4:00 and cleaned the boat and fish! Planned a fish fry for Sunday on Mother Days! Again, another fun day on the water!!!

Sounds like a fun trip!

Save some of those old tail bit gulps for "cut bait"
you can catch
-pinfish for trout bait
-sheephead
-silver/sugar trout
-mangrove snapper
-and whiting in the surf

use the pieces in place of pieces of shrimp

 Do you have any idea how many live shrimp you can get for $40. Probably enough to fish all day with then take enough home to eat
