Heres the problem: the cold water handle in the shower, no matter how tight i turn it still leaks out the spout :smt014

My guess: Is it the O ring seals in the stem?
Or just 13 years old and worn out?

I bet it takes a cartridge and not a washer....

They are not that hard to replace. Shut the water off and take it apart!

there's a place down on gaines st that caters to plumbers but sells to DIY'rs. Take the malfunction with you and they will fix you up - at unbelievable prices! I can't get what I need from the Lowes or HD prepackaged products - 'course my plumbing is 1960 circa.

A seat and a washer might be all you need. (the cranking it down harder just makes it worse usually - but my family members don't get it!)
