Ever heard of morals?? Not that I have any numbers that most of you havent fished a hundred times, but I wouldnt sale my spots for anything. I would gladly save the spots for the 1st annual NFGFC Kids day though!!!! Any fisherman worth his salt has two books on him, 1st his Bible , then his numbers book. I know neither of mine is or will be for sale!!!

A local Charter Skipper retired about 15 years ago and put his "numbers book" up for sale to the highest bidder, there were notices in all the local pubs.
He had a great reputation and was a good Skipper.
His book was sold for the equivalent of $1500.

Thats quite cheap for a life's work.

Thats basically what a Top Spot Map is. Guides were asked to give up one or two spots and usually they were pretty much common sense areas. When you invent something and you patent it, you are selling your knowledge. When you guide someone you are selling your knowledge. I would guess it would be okay since most spots are only good under certain conditions.

Today's spot is not necessarily tomorrow's spot...If you’re not intuitive as to what a fish is doing then those numbers are useless.

$1500 IS NOTHING, I KNOW A GUY AROUND HERE THAT PAID CLOSE TO $5000 FOR A COPY. I BELIEVE AFEW BEERS WERE INVOLVED, I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS GUY WOULD HAVE SOLD HIS NUMBERS FOR ANY AMOUNT. I HAVE BEEN FISHING WITH HIM A COUPLE OF TIMES AND HE WILL GET YOU A LIMIT OF GROUPER ANY TIME OF THE YEAR. WHEN YOU STOP ON ANY OF HIS NUMBERS THE DEPTHFINDER GOES CRAZZZZZY.

I see nothing wrong with him selling them but no self respecting fisher would buy them if I can't figure out how ta catch em on my on, I need to find a different past-time

Guides sell ther knowledge evryday they take clients out. I doubt I would ever buy numbers off of anyone. All of the fun in fishing is the hunt and the chase.

I wouldn't buy numbers, but it won't surprise me if he proves P.T. Barnum right.

Heck, even I could throw a bunch of inshore numbers together if I thought there would be any interest at all in buying them.

I'd even throw in one on a mountain trout stream in Japan just for the ??? factor.

I rekon I'm destined ta never catch a fish then cause I aint got either one of them books

I think we should stop marking channels too. People should have to earn the right the hard way to learn where they are.

Dang bro, I don't beleive I'd go that far.

Off-shore good spots are like gold to some people I know. Some will not let you on their boat with a hand held GPS. People who steal or buy numbers either don't understand fishing or don't want to put in the time to find their own good bottom.

I know a commercial fisherman that sold SOME of his numbers for $10,000. That was over 10 years ago.
