salt water and steel boat trailers

Post by electric chicken »

These two things do not mix well at all. We left last weekend to head to the flats and only made it about 30 miles before the trailer axle broke in half. It had actually rusted in two! After getting it back home, I inspected the damage and ended up just scrapping it and bought a new galvanized trailer from Huggins Marine in Albany. I guess it was a good thing that it happened last weekend instead of this weekend, because we're going on the family vacation to Cape San Blas. Hope to bring back lots of pics and great reports. Yall wish me luck!!!
I'd rather be lucky than good.
