I'm thinking about joining the NFGFC and heading to the next meeting to hear Capt. Reggie. It's the Thomasville Road Beef's right? How long do the meetings usually last? Not that I'm in a hurry.
I have never fished a tournament but I think it would be a blast. Thinking about hitting the July 7th tournament with my Dad. Someone explain a "draw" tournament to me.

The NFGFC meetings are held in the back room of Beef O'Brady's, located at 1830 Thomasville Road. The meetings start at 7:00 P.M., and last from 1 to 2 hours, depending on the agenda and speaker. Folks start showing up around 6, to socialize.
A draw tournament is done by individuals entering the tournament as either a boater or non boater. There is a random draw to pair the boaters with non boaters. Typically our tournaments are buddy tournaments. You pick your partner, show up on tournament morning, and fish. The draw tournaments give folks an opportunity to fish with someone they might not ordinarily fish with. The draw is not required. If you and your dad want to fish together, that's fine.
The July 7 tournament is being based out of Jerry's Bait and Tackle. I'll be at Jerrys by 5:30 A.M., the morning of the tournament. Stop by Jerrys the morning of the tournament, register and check in, and go fishing. Be back at Jerrys by 3:30 P.M. for the weigh in. Larry Cobb usually has something cooking for the weigh in. You can get something to eat, and meet the folks that fish.
We have a very good bunch of folks, and we always have a good time.

Larry Cobb the surveyor?
If its him...I have known him my entire life.
His kids went to NFC with me and my sister.
My sister and one of his Daughters were good friends.
Good man!
