Flush mount light socket corrosion?

Post by Redbelly »

My bow light plug in mount seems to be corroded, andf it's hard to reach the plugs to clean them. I am thinking this is why the bow light quit working. Any suggestions to un-corrode these plugs?

If its already corroded you probably need to replace it. I always spray a little PB Blaster/Silicone/whatever down the hole after I wash the boat to prevent corrosion

After you replace it, fill the socket with Vaseline or similar substance and keep it filled regularly.
No more corrosion problems.

I've noticed that you seem to be getting more and more grumpy. Have you been wearing your suspenders too tight again?

Go to advavnce auto parts and look on the counter. There are small blue packets of electrical grease. Apply liberally to you new receptacle and you'll never bother with it again. I did this with my kenner four years ago and with my triton last year. Never touched either one of them again. Good luck!!
