I had customers but Pop has payed his dues, retired... went fishing out of Panacea yesterday

He and a buddy only caught 2 keeper trout, a number of shorts and ladies.
The fished morning - and the tide was not strong.
Winds kept the water from moving.

I told them they needed a guide

I really think strong tides are the key to the fish we have been catching.
Why do tides make fish bite?

Or maybe its just my fish catching ability

I stayed in cause of the winds. Thanks for the report.

"akman" is most correct, the stronger the tides, the more baitfish is pushed around and through ambush points where predatory fish are waiting (with open mouths)! However, a wind, especially a strong one, can cause the bait, in conjunction with the strong tide, to be pushed up against structure (like bars, islands, etc.) where hungry fish invade for the kill. We fishermen should keep that in mind and attack those areas often, eh!
