I had six rods go bad( the eyes) . My store over here in Adel made em good and I ordered a Quantum Cabo, A falcon Coastal, and a Tica. All 7 ft and medium action. The falcon tore up before I put a reel on it. Ive heard alot of good things about the Falcon rods and since they support us, I want to buy some of them. How about a little input on these rods Ive selected and some more inut on ya'lls favorite rod. I also have a marshmaster and a challenger rod that I like. I still have three rods to replace but I want to try some new rods that I havent tried to see if I like them. Have any of you heard of the Tica T2 rod? I havent fished it and I had never heard of it, but it is a sweet feeling rod with a really skinny handle. The handle is about half the diameter of my other rods and it balances better than the Cabo. I like the Cabo too but Im afraid it might just be an overpriced rod with the same functionability and feel of the less expensive rods. By the way, I know someone's gonna say it, Im planning on having Heath order the three rods Im replacing if he can get em!!

If you really like the rods that you have just replace the guides. It's a good time to upgrade to better eyes. Proper guide size and placement can add a lot of distance to your cast. just my .02

The rods I took back were all shimanos and I dint like them much. Thanks for the info though. If I find a couple of rods I really like, Ill upgrade the eyelets anyways. I have all these rods and my favorite is a dang Pfleuger MAxx. It is the most sensitive rod ever!!

Most of my light rods are Falcons...I've been using them since the early 90's and they served me well....If I broke one tomorrowI'd replace it with another just like it..never had a problem at all with a Falcon...

I have two SS-7m Spinning rods I use with Stradic 4000's...Six FC-5-166 that I use with an assortment of Chronarchs.... All of em are tops in my book...Got one LFC-5-17 Lowrider I use with topwaters sometimes. It's rated for a slightly heavier lure...

Bought mine over the winter and yep, they are loud and sound like they're grinding..Sure somebody will read this and tell us how to remedy the problem..Mine sound like something is pulling drag while you are reeling..

Wallyworld has a falcon/abugarcia combo for less than $60. The 7' rod has a Medium light action, which I like a lot because I fish with braid, perfect for fish with a soft mouth like trout. I dont particularly care much of the reel though but it will do the job. As of last weekend, the Wallyworld in Tifton has several in stock (and no I dont work there).

Daiwa coastal inshore rods are really nice in 7-7 1/2' lighter series
for plugs and spoons with 1600 series daiwa ss reels and braided line.
The first thing I do is take a saw and cut off part of handle as I have
short arms. :-D

Ugly Stik lites 6'6" med with 1300 series daiwa ss reels for
general jigs and CTs.

My KILLER jig rod is an old smallmouth bass lite rod for 1/16-1/8
with a Daiwa ss 1300 and braid. These rods are no longer made so
I don't know what I'll do to ever replace it.

So many choices...not enough rodholders! :o

:smt006 For what it's worth here is what I fish:
1. Penn Slammer SL817870 - 7', one piece; 8-17 lb. line with an Okuma Epixor EB50 Spinning Reel, loaded with 350 yards of #12 test P-Line.
This is my CT rig and one that casts my hard lures!

2. Silstar XLXL701SPMH - 7' , one piece; 12-20 lb. line with Quantim XR spooled with 250 yds of #10 P-Line and spare spool with 350 yds of #8 P-Line. This is my soft bait rod used for Gulp-type soft bait jigs, etc. :lick:

3. Berkley Select ATR IM7 - 8&1/2', one piece; 6-14 lb. line with a Quantim SS3R spooled with 300 yds. of #8 P-Line and spare spool lined with 400 yds of #6 P-Line. This is my finesse rod - used for shallow, clear water soft bait & live bait presentations! 8)

4. Castaway CRH6.8 Carolina Honey Rig - 6'8'; 12-20 lb. line with a Bass Pro Shop Mega4 Tournament Baitcast Reel loaded with 350 yds. #10 P-Line. This is my "go to", all around, casting outfit used for CT's, jigging, & heavy top water hard baits. :smt007

I have other specialty outfits but they are for trolling, bottom fishing, fly fishing, etc...you probably don't care about that stuff right now!
