Me and Erica got started around 7am at Mashes Sands and headed to the clam bar. Didn't catch much there and decided to go catch a few reds. So we headed up river and caught a few shorts. Around 11am the wind died down to nothin and Erica said she wanted to try and catch her first cobia. So we headed out near and favorite buoy. When we got there I could see a few cobia circling the buoy. I hooked a pin fish on and shot him out towards the buoy. Before I could hand the rod to Erica the line got tight and I yelled here take the rod. Erica grabs the rod and the fight was on. Erica played that fish for several minutes and started yelling at me to gaff him. I told her there was no way in hell I was putting that green fish in the boat. She looked at me and said what the hell is a green fish fish
. Finally the fish comes to the side of the boat and rolls on his side and I gaffed him and in the boat. Some high fives and we headed home for some grilled cobia. Erica's FIRST cobia. When I figure this damn camera out I will get the picture up. I got the camera to make Eerman happy

Congrats Erica and Dale. My wife and I had a similar experience recently, and I know that it was a ton of fun for both of you. Can't wait to see the pics.

They say believe nothing you hear and only HALF of what you see
