I remember that happening to us down near Spring Creek when I was kid. We used to see deer in the water all the time down there back in the mid 70's and early 80's. My dad liked to take us down to Goose Pasture on Saturday mornings to watch them sein mullet down there. We saw deer swimming down there just about every time we went.

They probably were just being sarcastic. If you really think about it, you cannot go about your daily business in this country anymore without breaking at least ONE law daily.....

Think about it.....I challenge anybody out there to say they went a whole day (awake that is) without breaking some kind of rule or law.....

I break the laws of nature in my sleep While I do commend the fella for his sportsmanship the sad truth of the matter is that he could have lost his boat, fishing and hunting privileges and been fined heavily if the man stopped him and wanted to charge him and for that reason, I would NEVER do it

Back when my dad had this happen (1950's) some folks watching them called the Game and Fish to have them checked on...
Luckily the knew the Officer who came down and he realized they weren't trying to hurt the deer...

Crazy that they would have let it die but wanted to call the law to keep someone from saving it.

I got one better than that Bman, we (ABAC rodeo team) were in Murray, Ky for a rodeo and during the night some animal rights activists broke into the barn and started turning livestock onto the highway. They arrested 6 people and luckily none of the animals were hurt and life went on. I don't know what they were thinking but it didn't work out.

I just realized wherre those guys were. There are some horses that make that run in the water every year. They then auction off some of the horses. I don't think they swim that far off course though. Its in "The real name" Assateague.

Jeff, I think there still are some wild horses on one of the GA islands.

I think they said they were in the Cheasapeake Bay though. They may not be near Chico or Assateague but it would make sense there. I took pictues of a deer in the Marsh on the East side going down to the Lighthouse last Winter.

Well done, Jsuber...I really like the PETA comment, BB! But, they wouldn't have known what to do with a coastal swimming piscatorial hoofer, anyway! Now, with Reel Cowboy out there you never know - he might have wanted to rope and ride him, ya think?
