How far is it from St George to Lanark and what is the best route by water? Im headed down Thursday thru Monday and I want to go over to Lanark to some of my old spots. Anybody know the safe route?? I know to take the channel east from the bridge but not sure what to do when I get there!! A map would be great!!!!!

It's a 25 mile run from the St. George bridge to the Lanark landing. If you're headed east of the Lanark landing, run the channel from the SGI bridge to the mouth of the Carabelle River. East of the river, watch for hazard markers and stay outside the Lanark Reef, and let her roll.

Water hazard markers being white stakes??? How far out is the Lanark reef and should it be on my GPS? Ive Lanark alot but always towards Turkey Point. I wonder if I should just put it on the trailer or fish my way there? Is there any good fishing from the A to B?? I know some spots before you get to dog island, just not sure from there. How do I know where the mouth of the river is?? Sounds like a dumb question but Ive never been there except coming in from offshore fishing out of Carabelle. Thanks TC

Found a map. Do I need to go inside or outside of dog island and I dont see a spot for Lanark reef. How far is it out from the shore? Thanks for the help.

BB, if you have a Garmin GPS, and Bluechart, it's all in there.

There are a few shallow bars just outside the mouth of the Carabelle River. They are marked with poles and hazard signs.

If you have a mark in your GPS for where the channel out of Lanark cuts through the Lanark reef, run from East Pass, to that mark and you'll be OK.

Trailer your boat and drive over there.
