Alligator Harbor?

Anyone have any basic information about fishing over there?

Start with the marina... is there a ramp there I can use?

How about fishing in the harbor - are there any obstructions? Anything to watchout for? Are the red markers from the chart still there after Dennis?

Just looking for the basics and the 'lay of the land' don't want anyone's hot spots or anything.

You can't use the ramp at the marina unless you are a member there. This is due to parking issues. If you can find a place to park that is not in their way, they usually don't have a problem. Stop in and talk to Raymond. He'll let you know what you can do. There are a few smaller "slips" to launch on the bay side going towards the marina. Otherwise you have to use the ramp off 98 which is basically only suitable for a kayak or jonboat.

The only obstructions I have ever been aware of are the ones down near the clam beds that are marked off 98 with the white pvc poles. Going towards the end of Alligator Point and St. Teresa is ok. I've caught nice trout and reds all over that place recently wading, so that is the only hotspot info I can offer

there are a couple of landings at alligator harbor, the best one being on sun and surf rd., there are a few oyster bars/islands around there you need to watch out for that aren't marked. alot of that area also gets real LOW on a low tide. might try the very back of the harbor(marshy area) for flounder and reds. caught a few trout in the channel out by the point last weekend.

Grass flats off the end of the point are popular for trout.
Channel near the point is a sure bet on a shark.
Turkey point shoals is a quick run- trout and macks.

Its a fun place to fish...
