Is there another way to process pictures for the forum? I can't use this one anymore - my office just upgraded the "WebSense" internet filtering software that keeps us from gambling on-line, going to porn sites, etc. and now the below is blocked. Next they will install thought control software I'm sure. 1984 here we come.

Set up a photobucket account. It's free, it works great, and I haven't recieved spam from them yet. (had an account for a year or so now)

My work blocks photobucket too, so its basically no pics til I get home.

imageshack is blocked too.

My work basically blocked all the big network file storage sites.

there is ways to get around those things i did it at school all the time to play games cant remeber the web sights that help you do it but i will try to find out for you guys

I have a question which has probably been asked and answered before, but I'm gonna ask anyway. Why can't we just attach pics from this website just like we'd attach a pic to email?

I could use a proxie web site to get around it, but I think those places would probably be frowned upon too.

Bandwidth costs...it would cost alot more to host your pictures

Karts...goto the fishing report section and look for reports with pictures...the ones that you can see aren't blocked...look at mjsigns fishing reports his pictures are not blocked at my office, but the others are for me too....This one works for me at work too http://www.webshots.com/

Not that much more if every user was limited to X amount of space. You would have to rotate photos but It would get it done.

Bandwidth != Space.

Space = cheap
Bandwidth = $$$

Thanks for the help and suggestions guys, but none of these picture sites are accessible by me anymore. And good idea Chalk to find a processor that I can still see - but after surfing around the forum now I find I can't see any ANY pictures anymore - crappola !!

I guess everybody will have to start being REAL descriptive in their postings -- or I will just have to get off my butt and logon from home more.

And I do understand the issues Tom has to deal with in making sure that picture transmission doesn't significantly impact available bandwidth -- we have great response time compared to other forums I have been in.

When I read a dialog of posts like these it reminds me how happy I am to be RETIRED from the state...A-retentive pucks hanging around the admin sections up there now have no sense of humor...all work and no play makes most everybody there now a bunch of unhappy workers - I know, my mad as H--- wife is still at it after 30 years (poor girl)! When she comes home wound up tight after a day in the land of state bureaucrats and starts yelling at the dogs, I just retreat into the computer den, put on Nelson, turn the volume up hi, and write! Thank you, Lord, for retirement!!!

Retiring is what I am doing too, just as soon as the house sells -- and I will be done worrying about my own batch of maxo-A-retentive thought police.

While it is not worth me fighting this for the month or so I have left here at work, for those of you who will continue to have to deal with your company's internet site blocker, in my research over the last few days, I have found that a workable solution to this problem is to remote into your home PC from work and use your home PC's (unblocked) web access.

Here's what one of the younger techies at work told me: You need a Linksys Wireless G router (around $90). The router has a built-in Dynamic DNS service that works with http://www.dyndns.com/services/dns/dyndns/. You set up an account (free) with them and the put the account information into your router and you are good to go. If you only have 1 computer plugged into the router you don't have to do anything else, you just use Remote Desktop to connect in.
