Fly Casting Clinic
Learn from Master Certified Casting Instructors. A service of the Florida Council of the Federation of Fly Fishers
The Florida Council FFF will hold a fly casting workshop in Tallahassee, Fl. on July 14, 2007. The class will be for novice and intermediate anglers of all ages.
Place: The MacClay School - Tallahassee, Fl
Date: Saturday, July 14, 2007 Time : 9:00am to 3:00pm
Cost: $60 ( $45 for FFF members) Pre-registration neccessary. (Sorry, no charge cards)

9:00 am - An Introduction to Fly Fishing - Casting Mechanics and Style with Dusty Sprague - FFF Master Casting Instructor - North Port, FL
10:00 am - Refining Your Backcast To Improve Your Forward Cast with Jim Penrod - FFF Master Casting Instructor - Port St Joe, FL -
11:00 am - FL Lake and River Fishing in the Tallahassee Area: Locations, Techniques, and Flies with Tom Logan - Biologists/Fly Designer - Tallahassee,
Noon - Lunch - Provided by the FFF Florida Council
1:00 pm to 3:00 pm - Casting Instruction - Bring your Rods ! Provided by FFF Master Casting Instructors: Capt Pete Greenan, Jim Penrod and Dusty Sprague

Probably would cast better after a few Crowns

I think I'm scheduled to be out of town that weekend. If not I will attend.
Chalk, to help your casting try a wrist lock, it should help you some

Just get one of those closed bungee cords with the balls on the end put on your wrist give it a twist and loop over the end of the rod. It sounds odd but it really helps.

Special Note:
Those of you that have a serious desire of getting into flyfishing, here is your chance to be trained by some of the best! Some of these guys trained me as a Tadpole back in the early 80's! So, if I can do it...you can do it!!!
This is excellent timing, because my beginning-intermediate saltwater flyfishing class will be at the NFGFC next's meeting date 7/19/07! I will not cover fly casting other than some most basic moves due to limited space and time, so sign up, folks!
