My wife and I got to spend a rare day on the flats chasing reds. We launched around 6:30 and headed out the river.
Things started out pretty slow, the stiff N/NE breeze made it difficult to work the bank. We fumbled around for a while picking up a small red or 2, then decided to put a few pinfish in the baitwell and go looking for a cobia. Headed to some deeper water and put out the chum bag. Drowned a few pinfish without much luck. By now it had gotten pretty hot, so we burned a little gas cooling off.
Later, we found ourselves on a nice, broad grass flat with just the last of the falling tide draining off. Set up a drift to work a few ambush points on the flat. Almost immeadiately began catching reds on gold spoons.
Ended up with 19 reds to 24" and 4 accidental trout to 18".
The wife was a little camera shy so she wouldn't let me take her picture with every fish she caught. I made her pose for a few though.

Can't wait til next time.
