AmericanXpress has a no fee balance transfer to a 3.99% for the life of the payoff if anyone is interested.

Does anyone else pay attention to these kind or things of have opinions about them?

:smt009 My wife does and I'm sending a request for one of them AE 3+% specials right away...but, since she lost her sense of humor about me and my spending decades ago (we've been married 39 years, so one could see how a perfectly good woman could get a chapped hiny over some fool like me anyway) so she'll probably tell me to "buzz off"! Oh well. Hey, that's why "I never get caught up on my fishing", okay! :smt007

I do not know about the balance transfers, but I do know anyone with a CD ready to roll should look into the new offerings at the major banks on the internet. I am talking like Bank of America, Capital One...etc....

They are paying the same rates for regular savings that local banks will pay for a 1 year CD, (right now over 5%) and your money is not tied up for a year....you can have it back in your checking acct within 3 days if you need it....

Or, if you find a better rate, just wait till interest is paid at end of month, and move it.....

Just Google "online savings"
