When you guys fish the flats do you ever chumm? If so any advise would be appreciated. I read something about using rabbit food to chum for flounders. Sound Crazy?

I have chummed a couple of times on the flats with mixed success. Caught alot of rockbass and sharks but not many trout. I'm sure it can work though, tons of bait fish will come into the slick. We did get into the trout one day but it was after the chum had formed a pretty good slick, we would drift through the slick and catch a couple and motor back and do it agian. I will try it agian one day.

I chum a lot in the late spring and summer. It is the best way to catch cobia I have found. I use frozen premade chum blocks from Jerry's bait and tackle.

Tom, what kind of container are those chum blocks in? Do you need some type of bucket or bag to put them in to use?

Just a cheap mesh bag. I have a bunch of them that I use for scalloping too.
